The Waddenvereniging’s aims are conservation, restoration and good management of nature, landscape and environment, and of the ecological and cultural-historical values of the Wadden area, including – but not limited to – the northern sea clay area, the Wadden Islands, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea as irreplaceable and unique nature reserves. The Waddenvereniging also aims to promote interest in these areas and bases its activities on the understanding that humans are part of the ecosystem. The Waddenvereniging seeks to achieve its objectives by all appropriate means, including the development, realisation and promotion of activities aimed at protecting the ecological, scenic and cultural-historical values of and in the Wadden Sea region and those aimed at combating activities that could damage those values; lobbying activities; the conducting of legal proceedings; and collecting and distributing information about the Wadden Sea region. The Waddenvereniging also aims to bring those with an interest in the Wadden Sea area into contact with each other and unite them. The Waddenvereniging is a non-profit organisation and to this end, it cooperates with various parties. Your personal data are usually collected when you apply to become a member of the organisation, leave your details on our websites and/or follow us via social media. Occasionally, the Waddenvereniging may also obtain personal data from other sources. Your data is processed by our IT systems and this automated information is used to optimise our services.
